Volunteer Information
Run by Parent Volunteers - like you?
In order to run a safe and enjoyable program, we need parent volunteers at all sessions to assist on land with boat launching and return, and also assist coaches on the water in power safety boats. Our program coaches will provide guidance and details for each class to ensure specific support needs are covered. Details about volunteer training requirements are below.
In order to run the classes following the requirements of US Sailing, we offer training with certification for parent volunteers and experienced Junior sailors.
Training Requirements
If you plan to volunteer, please complete the following basic training as outlined below. This training is expected to attend for all volunteer activities in order to ensure the safety of our program:
- Concussion Training - Training provided by CDC (free)
- SafeSport Training - Training through US Sailing (free for US Sailing members) / Training through US Center for SafeSport (cost is $20)
